If you want to engage and connect with others, you have to get over yourself. We must willingly shift from "What's in it for me" to "It's all about them," if we really want to serve others. The focus is on hearing from them, tapping into their needs for the moment, while listening to God for a word fitly spoken, or a loving gesture or deed done for them in His name.
As our focus is clearly off of ourselves and in God directed love towards others, the Lord can move through us to heal, restore, and bring needed life to them. I have spent too many years thinking of myself, and I am choosing to die to that nature so that It is no longer I who live, but Christ living in and through me. So I can go on living and trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Will you join me in this?
I will be once again with my friends at Pneuma church today (Sunday) in the Delta area of Vancouver, BC Look forward to seeing several of you there.
